Michael C. Wagner, 70 of Danville, left us peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Masonic Services by Further Light Lodge 1130 and Bible Presentation by the Danville Fire Department will take place at 12:30pm on Sunday, January 13th at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. A visitation will follow from 1-3:30pm on Sunday, with funeral services beginning at 3:30pm by Pastor Jim Boudouris. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
Michael was born on April 29, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana to Curtis and Geneve (Garrett) Wagner. He attended Lynch and Oaklawn grade schools, East Park Jr High and Danville High School. Michael worked for over 20 years for the Danville Fire Department, and was an entrepreneur, owning both a bar and a trucking company throughout the years. He was a longtime member of Further Light Masonic Lodge. Michael was dedicated to his career and his businesses, putting one hundred percent of himself into everything he did. He loved being with his family, watching the Cubs and the Bears (through good times and bad!), and could often be found riding his Harley.
Michael leaves behind his three children: Michael Wagner II, Timothy (Shane) Grider, and Kimberly Denison, and his eight grandchildren whom he adored: Josh, Hayley, Blake, Trey, AJ, Jette, Zachary, and Carson. He also leaves behind a sister Debbie (Mark) Hayes. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Pam and Sandra, and two brothers: Randy and Denny.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael’s name to Further Light Lodge 1130. Memories and messages for the family may be left on our website at www.krugercoanpape.com, or on the Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home Facebook page.
